Inspection bodies report the defects they find on lifts in their own formats and channels, and the maintenance company that must clear them exchanged that information by post and e-mail, retyping it and reconciling different identifiers for the same equipment. SEADEV designed and built PENPA, a web platform that connects to each inspection body's channel, such as files dropped on an FTP server or a REST API, stores what it receives and translates each body's data model into the maintainer's own. The reservations then pass through an API to the maintainer's maintenance dashboard, each with a readable copy of the original report, with the aim of making new findings available by the next day. Maintainer staff, inspection-body staff and administrators each sign in with their own role and see only what concerns them, in searchable lists and a shared document library. The platform went into use at the end of 2022, with user manuals for each role, and is still maintained.
